Dr. Nguyen has over 24 years of experience as a board-certified internal medicine physician. His specialty interests include hospital medicine, primary care, cosmetic medicine, and work with international patients. As a proud member of San Francisco’s LGBT communitiy Dr. Nguyen has created a practice that supports our community and is both a warm and welcoming place to recivie care. Dr. Nguyen provides Immigration Medical Services that focus on the needs of LGBT+ immigrants and their families. In addition, he provides cosmetic medical services to meet the needs o gay, lesbian and transgender patients.
He completed studies at University of California, Irvine; Ross University School of Medicine in the West Indies; and Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia. He has served as a hospitalist in many hospitals around the California Bay Area and on the east coast of the United States. With solid clinical judgment and an unwavering dedication to compassionate relationships, Dr. Nguyen has helped many patients and their families through the difficult experience of hospitalization and major illness.
He holds admitting privileges at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital, St. Mary’s Medical Center, and Marin General Hospital. With a desire to help people lead healthier lives, he opened a private practice at Recharge Medical. In this unique primary care practice he provides high quality care in a tranquil spa-like setting. This combination is perfect for Dr. Nguyen’s patient-centered, calm approach to health care.
Dr. Nguyen completed extensive additional training in cosmetic medicine, skin care, and laser treatments. He truly enjoys cosmetic work and has received praise for the results he is able to achieve with his cosmetic patients. His approach to cosmetic medicine is distinctly that of an internist, working with patients’ aesthetic goals in the context of their overall health.
Dr. Nguyen particularly enjoys working with international patients. With training in travel medicine and years of experience as a certified United States civil surgeon, he is well versed in the unique social and medical needs of patients from all over the world. He provides hundreds of United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) medical exams and assists many American travelers with their travel health needs. Many international visitors and newcomers choose Dr. Nguyen as their primary care provider.
A resident of San Francisco, California, USA , Dr. Nguyen speaks English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. He is avid music lover, supporter of the local arts, and a lifelong animal lover. During his undergraduate training Dr. Nguyen enjoyed his work as a veterinary technician.
