I’m Sam. I’m a queer therapist who works with LGBTQ+ adults throughout New York and New Jersey. I know that our identities, relationships, families, and communities all shape how we experience ourselves and the world, and I believe therapy should be a place where those experiences can be explored openly without judgment or assumptions.
Many of my clients come to therapy for anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, life transitions, or questions about identity and self-esteem. I have a particular interest in working with gay, bisexual, queer, and questioning men, as well as people in consensually non-monogamous and other non-traditional relationships. My practice is LGBTQ+ affirming, sex-positive, and kink-aware.
My approach is relational psychodynamic, which means we are interested not only in reducing symptoms but also in understanding the deeper patterns that shape your emotional life and relationships. Together, we will explore how your past experiences continue to influence the present while creating space for new ways of relating to yourself and others.
I earned my Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College and am licensed as an LMHC-D in New York and an LPC in New Jersey. I continue to pursue advanced training in relational psychotherapy, relationship therapy, anxiety treatment, and LGBTQ+ mental health.
Whether you are working through a difficult period, trying to better understand yourself, or looking to build healthier relationships, I strive to offer a thoughtful, collaborative space where you can feel understood and challenged in ways that support meaningful change.
