I enjoy helping people find new ways of approaching – and healthier ways of coping with – times of life that are naturally full of ups and downs. I also recognize the significant personal and community needs for support at this time while the external world is saturated in chaos.
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in Minnesota who aims to support people on their journeys of personal development, including their gender and sexual orientation identities. Clients are warmly accepted in my practice for who they are today. I help clients better understand their brain and their body’s responses. My goal is to provide a stable environment that is both supportive and challenging. Together, we explore what that person values, where they want to go, what they would like to change, and who they want to become.
I support people with anxiety, ADHD, autism, self-harm, social concerns, trauma, executive function development, family distress, identity questions, and grief.
I seek out ongoing trainings and educational opportunities in order to provide gender affirming, inclusive, and justice-oriented outpatient mental health therapy services. My clients are mostly teens and young adults, families, and small groups, and more than 50% of my caseload identifies as queer or trans. My additional work in an arts nonprofit also gives me opportunities to support folks who identify as LGBTQIA+. I have experience supporting individuals in the process of self-disclosure (“coming out”) and holding space for processing change in family units.
I view therapy as an active, collaborative process that can lead to healing and growth. My style infuses skill building, metaphorical language, humor, and sensory and bodily focuses. Yes, therapy can also be fun!
