Tonya (she/they) is a clinical social worker who creates compassionate and affirming spaces that allow people to safely explore their authentic selves and make meaningful connections with others. Tonya specializes in providing knowledgeable and affirming care to queer and gender-expansive clients. She finds joy in supporting clients as they navigate their intersecting identities within the context of their relationships, sexuality, self-worth, and phase of life transitions.

Prior to her social work career, Tonya spent nearly 20 years in higher education working in college student affairs. This rewarding career allowed her to engage in passionate work in leadership development, social justice education, and mentoring students through their college journey. This career ultimately led Tonya to pursue her love of social justice and empowering others by enrolling in the MSW program at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Tonya identifies as queer, fat, and neurodivergent. She is deeply committed to body liberation and is proficient in working with clients navigating weight stigma and struggling with self-worth. Tonya is sex-positive and kink/poly-informed and is experienced in working with neurodivergent populations. Tonya is also competent in working with clients who are deconstructing their faith and/or recovering from purity culture. Tonya’s approach to therapy is anti-oppressive and anti-colonial, with particular emphasis on practices rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, and Somatic Experiencing.

Outside of work, Tonya loves spending time with her wife and a chosen family of the most wonderful friends. She loves music, playing tennis, and buying sneakers when she can.

Tonya sees clients 18 years old+ and currently has openings weekday evenings and Saturdays.
