Hi, I’m Allica! (Named after Metallica. Literally.) 🌙
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-Associate), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and the founder of The Hidden Meadow Therapy LLC, a virtual therapy practice serving teens (14+) and adults throughout Texas. I’m supervised by Elizabeth McCoy, LPC-S.
I’m Hispanic, queer, a first-generation college graduate, and someone who has spent a whole lot of time thinking about identity, belonging, expectations, and what it means to build a life that actually feels like your own.
There’s a strange kind of grief that can come with realizing you’ve spent so much time becoming who you thought you should be that you haven’t had much room to discover who you actually are. And sometimes, the journey of understanding yourself involves questioning things you’ve always been taught, navigating complicated relationships, or trying to make sense of parts of yourself that don’t fit neatly into the boxes the world has created.
That’s the kind of work I love doing!
My approach is collaborative, curious, affirming, and rooted in the belief that people deserve the freedom to explore who they are without being told who they’re supposed to become. I work with LGBTQ+ clients navigating sexuality, gender identity, coming out, family and cultural expectations, self-worth, relationships, depression, and the wonderfully messy experience of being human.
I draw from Choice Theory/Reality Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and mindfulness. Sometimes our work looks like untangling old patterns and getting curious about where they came from. Other times, it’s building practical skills, exploring values, evaluating choices, or figuring out what the hell to do next.
And yes, we can absolutely laugh in therapy!!
I don’t leave my personality at the door when the session starts. I bring curiosity, warmth, humor, clinical judgment, and a willingness to have the difficult conversations. I want therapy to feel like a real conversation where there’s room for the complicated stuff, the awkward stuff, the beautiful stuff, and everything in between.
I earned my Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marshall University and am a National Certified Counselor. My professional involvement includes the American Counseling Association (ACA), Chi Sigma Iota (CSI), the American Association of Suicidology (AAS), and Central Texas Eating Disorder Specialists (CTEDS).
At The Hidden Meadow, I offer private-pay telehealth therapy throughout Texas, including evening and late-night appointment options.
I think there’s something really powerful about being able to look at your life, your experiences, and your choices and ask, “Okay, but what actually feels like mine?”
And I think everyone deserves room to explore that question.
