Bethany Henderson, LCSW-C

I am a clinical social worker who specializes in working with LGBTQ youth, adolescents, adults and families. I have extensive experience in working with individuals who are navigating their sexuality and/or gender identity, as well as providing family therapy to families of LGBTQ members. I also work with families/partners to help them support their loved ones in their transition, adjust to change, and handle any challenges.

I am currently a member of The GALAP and provide gender affirming surgical evaluations and letters free of charge using an informed consent model in order to help with barriers of access for gender affirming care.

Prior to working in private practice, I worked at a Federally Qualified Health Center as a program manager for LGBTQ older adults and caregivers in their LGBT Health Resource Center. I have also worked in an adolescent health center as a social worker for the transgender health program and worked at a hospital in their Center for Transgender Health as the social worker providing pre- and post-surgical care. Prior to the pandemic, I facilitated a youth group for trans, non-binary and gender diverse folks through a local PFLAG chapter.
