I am a queer, nonbinary therapist of color, continuing a family tradition of four generations serving communities as healers and caregivers. This inherited value led me to pursue a Master’s in Social Work, and I now combine my love of service and healthy living to support my clients in healing for healthier futures. In addition to my licensures — LMSW in NY and LICSW in DC — I am pursuing a formal certification as a Transgender Care Therapist from the International Transgender Certification Association, expected to complete by November 2022.
I utilize several approaches such as strengths-based, cognitive behavioral, trauma-focused, person-focused, feminist, and multicultural therapy. During our consultation call, feel free to let me know if there are practices, rituals, or items you engage with that support your healing and talking processes. I affirm members of all communities, such as: LGBTQ+ folx, formerly incarcerated folx, sex workers, kink-positive folx, consensual non-monogamous folx, gender non-binary and non-conforming folx, and transgender folx.
Life transitions can get messy. We all face times of uncertainty, loss, and endings. Transitions can also mean new beginnings, different relationships, and exploring the unknown in your future and your past. Our sessions are a space to examine roots of systemic oppression, inherited fears, environmental trauma, and harmful labels you were given that you didn’t ask for. My role is to walk with you, bringing in my training and experience as a therapist as we examine your patterns for growth, detach what no longer serves you, and map out your mental health wellness journey together.
My work is rooted in restorative practice circle keeping and strengths-based approaches, partnering with you to explore your mental and spiritual wellness. From our first session, we’ll identify your growth goals and agree on tasks and challenges that exercise the strengths you want to build.
