I am a licensed psychoanalyst, and licensed creative arts therapist with more than 25 years of experience providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. My practice is grounded in relational psychoanalysis and creative arts therapy, with a focus on helping people understand themselves more deeply, strengthen relationships, and create lasting change.
I have extensive experience working with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and gender-diverse individuals across the lifespan. I provide LGBTQ+ affirming care that recognizes the impact of identity, family dynamics, minority stress, discrimination, and social context while never reducing a person solely to their sexual orientation or gender identity. My goal is to create a therapeutic relationship where patients feel genuinely seen, respected, and understood.
Many of the individuals I work with are exploring questions related to identity development, coming out, relationships, marriage, parenting, family acceptance, gender expression, life transitions, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and the complexities of navigating multiple intersecting identities. I also work with LGBTQ+ children, adolescents and their families, helping parents and caregivers strengthen communication, deepen understanding, and support their children through periods of growth and transition.
My clinical work emphasizes curiosity, authenticity, and collaboration. Rather than offering one-size-fits-all solutions, I work with each patient to understand the unique experiences that have shaped them and the strengths they bring to treatment. I believe that therapy should be a place where every aspect of a person’s identity can be explored safely, thoughtfully, and without judgment.
In addition to my clinical practice, I teach, supervise, and present nationally on topics related to psychoanalysis, creativity, adolescent mental health, and family systems. I have served in leadership roles within professional psychoanalytic organizations and remain actively engaged in continuing education, clinical consultation, and the advancement of inclusive, evidence-informed mental health care.
Whether someone is seeking support around LGBTQ+-specific concerns or simply looking for an affirming therapist who values the whole person, I strive to provide a warm, thoughtful, and culturally responsive therapeutic experience.
