As a queer, non-binary, neurodivergent therapist, I provide an affirming space that allows my clients to accept all parts of themselves, and celebrate their identities. I specialize in working with young adults, including college students and young professionals, who are queer-identified and/or neurodivergent. In addition to my lived experience, I am a member of Charlotte Trans Health and a provider through their PATH program, have completed trainings with WPATH and The Fenway Institute, and have engaged in research surrounding needs of LGBTQ+ people in rural North Carolina. I offer LGBTQ+ and neurodivergence-affirming education, consultation, and training to families, groups, and local organizations. I am also a member of GALAP (Gender Affirmative Letter Access Project) and offer sliding scale letter writing services.
I love learning about new therapeutic techniques, the nervous system, and exploring new research, but I know that there is no one-size-fits all approach to therapy. The most important thing for me is to offer empathy, validation, and acknowledgement that you are the expert on yourself! We will work together at your own pace, building a relationship that feels safe and supportive.
This might be your first foray into therapy, or maybe you have seen several mental health providers in the past. Maybe you are seeking a diagnosis, or have been given many over the years that don’t feel like they make sense or fit. Regardless of where you are coming from, I am committed to working with you in a way that feels individualized and supportive. I see our work together as a collaboration between two humans, not a space for pathologizing.
I bring a social justice lens to my work, which means naming in sessions many of the ways this world makes it harder to thrive. I welcome the hard things you might carry into our time together but also humor, creativity, or any other way you need to show up on a given day. I have a background in harm reduction and community organizing. If you’re interested in specific modalities, I have a certification in LGBTQ+ Affirming CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), and am versed in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), IFS (Internal Family Systems), DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy), and motivational interviewing.
In my spare time you might find me hanging out with my cat, Juniper, playing Dungeons and Dragons or Zelda, hiking, or doing improv.
