(pronouns: she/they) I have always had a passion for promoting mental health and utilizing counseling as an avenue to support one’s overall well-being. I believe that counseling is a collaborative process and I encourage clients to make choices for themselves while offering a safe environment for them to do so. My counseling style is warm, nonjudgmental, and focuses on one’s self-concept through the use of a variety of techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, and multicultural counseling theories. Additionally, I practice trauma-informed care and utilize a strengths-based perspective in order to highlight what each individual already possesses.
As a queer therapist myself, I have specific interests in working with individuals identifying within the LGBTQ+ community, people wishing to process through trauma, and anyone who is interested in exploring the current state of their mental health. I have experience working with clients who are exploring gender identity and sexuality as well as those in non-monogamous relationships. Please reach out if you have any questions that I can help answer in order to make your journey of finding a therapist a little easier.
