I am Beidemariam Milton, PMHNP-BC, founder and lead provider at Focused Mental Health Services, LLC in Tallahassee, Florida. As a board-certified psychiatric–mental health nurse practitioner, I provide affirming, trauma-informed, and evidence-based care for LGBTQ+ individuals across the lifespan. My practice is grounded in equity, respect, and dignity for all people regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression.
I have completed extensive training in inclusive and culturally competent mental health care, including the 8-hour MATE Act training on substance use treatment and additional CMEs on LGBTQ+ mental health, trauma, and minority stress. I routinely participate in continuing education focused on gender-affirming care, anti-bias practice, and culturally responsive therapy.
My clinical work includes:
Comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and medication management for depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, and substance use concerns.
Gender-affirming mental health support, including readiness assessments, hormone therapy collaboration, and letters for gender-affirming procedures as clinically appropriate.
Affirming therapy for LGBTQ+ youth and adults, including coping with family rejection, identity exploration, and trauma recovery.
Special interest in intersectional care, including support for clients of color, immigrants, and people navigating multiple marginalized identities.
I am a member of professional networks committed to advancing LGBTQ+ health equity, and my practice integrates trauma-informed principles, harm reduction, and holistic approaches tailored to each individual. By centering respect, transparency, and collaboration, I strive to create a welcoming space where LGBTQ+ clients feel heard, validated, and empowered in their mental health journey.
