Are you feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of where you belong? Maybe you’re navigating anxiety, depression, questions of identity, relationship challenges, or a major life transition? Are you looking for a space where you can feel genuinely understood?
Hi. Welcome. I’m Katrina, a Licensed Master Social Worker currently accepting new telehealth psychotherapy clients throughout New York State. I earned my Master of Social Work from Hunter College and my Bachelor of Arts from New York University.
I believe meaningful therapy and healing begins with a strong client-therapist relationship. Feeling understood, accepted, and genuinely connected can create the foundation for exploring difficult experiences, gaining insight, and creating lasting change. My approach is relationship-focused, collaborative, warm, and authentic. Drawing from trauma-informed, psychodynamic attachment-based, and evidence-based practices, I work alongside you as you deepen your understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the experiences that have shaped you. Together, we will move at a pace that feels right for you.
For over three years, I have worked with LGBTQIA+ adolescents and adults navigating identity, relationships, anxiety, depression, grief, and life transitions, among others. I also conducted research exploring asexual individuals’ experiences within healthcare settings, which strengthened my commitment to providing care that recognizes and affirms identities that are often overlooked, misunderstood, or erased.
As a queer Guatemalan adoptee, I understand that questions of identity, family, culture, belonging, and self-acceptance can be deeply personal and complex. I strive to cultivate a space where all parts of who you are can be welcomed with curiosity and care. My practice is LGBTQIA+, neurodivergent-, adoption-, and identity-affirming.
