Hey there – I’m Melody (she/her/they/them). I believe that my personal experiences growing up as a queer, Iranian-American womxn and daughter of immigrants in our society have all shaped me to be the therapist I am today. I’ve found that my natural inclination is to be authentic, collaborative and creative. I join the folks I work with- owning the fact that I am not some all-knowing expert that can “fix” whoever I sit with. I show up to sessions as a human first, not just ‘your therapist’ and I approach everyone one of my clients in the same way.
I work with folks who feel big feelings and think deep thoughts, caring deeply for helping others but struggle to not absorb the emotions of those around them, and want to better assert themselves & set boundaries that serve them. I aim to integrate restorative justice and awareness into our work. I feel it is vital to address how our unique experiences and identities impact the way we perceive and have been perceived in society. I will support you by integrating a trauma-informed, mindfulness, person-centered and attachment-based approach so you feel affirmed in your journey to connect, integrate and grow your awareness of self.
I currently am accepting new clients, and provide sessions virtually for individual, couples and family therapy. I do not take insurance, but am happy to provide you with a superbill for you to send to your insurance to get reimbursement for out of network providers/services. Feel free to contact me directly or through my website to schedule a free 15 minute consultation call so I can learn more about your experiences and goals bringing you to therapy, and I can answer any questions for you regarding what to expect in therapy, or my work, approach, rates, etc.
I know finding the right therapist for you can be tricky and exhausting sometimes, so please don’t hesitate to reach out so you can see if we vibe or if I can send you some referrals for folks that might be a better fit.
