Greetings!
I have been empowering sex, dating and relationship lives since I opened the doors of my private practice in 2007.
As a South Asian (born in the US to immigrant parents from India,) Queer, non monogamous, pan sexual, Person of Color, raised in United States, I have simultansouesly had the privilege of fighting for my many freedoms of expression, living in my able body, feeling aligned with the gender assignment I was given at birth, while also living within the walls of white supremacy, experiencing racism, internalized racism, colorism. I spent the earlier years of my academic life and career fighting homophobia and sexism, all of which have roots in the same system of oppression, but it was just the tip of the iceberg. My journey continues to learn, undo, relearn and share my intentions towards de-colonizing myself, my work, and my practice.
Thus, my commitment is centering the experiences of marginalized communities and de-colonizing therapy and myself. By bringing to the forefront aspects of our experiences which are directly linked to pleasure and sexuality which have been scapegoated, as things which are not accepted by the majority of our society we have resorted to living in fear, shame, guilt of various aspects of reality. Even when we grow to accept our differences the amount of shame that goes along with lack of education is what we need to work towards breaking down.
Education around sex and sexuality is where I believe we need to start. Having conversations about sex, talking about pleasure, even just having suitable language and words to speak our minds and voices to understand ourselves in relation to others is a great place to start.
My focus is around empowerment, encouraging you to have a voice, resistance, and mostly revolution around pleasure. The work we do with sex and relationships while focusing on Black, Indegenious, People of Color, LGBTQIA, gender non-conforming, gender variant, kinky, non-monogamous, polyamorous, sex worker communities and other sexual minorities understands that pleasure is the key to our healing.
I am on this journey and I hope you will join me.
Love, Light and Lube,
