Tameca is a licensed clinical social worker in Florida and the District of Columbia. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Counseling from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, where she also minored in Women’s Studies. She received her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore and went on to pursue and receive her PhD in Human Sexuality Education from Widener University in Chester, PA in 2010.
Tameca is nationally certified by the American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) as a Sexuality Educator and has served on their board of directors. She has also held leadership positions with the Council on Social Work Education, specifically serving as a co-chair for the Council on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Expression and as a member of the Commission for Diversity and Social and Economic Justice. She has also presented at several national conferences on topics related to Diversity and Social Justice; and Love, Attachment, and Relationships.
