I am a dedicated licensed clinical social worker with over 13 years of experience, including nearly 9 years managing my private practice. My specialized training encompasses EMDR, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, Hypnosis, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Focused Therapy.
I am passionate about helping individuals navigate various challenges, including addictions, anger, anxiety, depression, identity issues, and trauma, with a specific focus on supporting LGBTQ+ clients. I understand the unique struggles faced by LGBTQ+ individuals, such as acceptance and navigating societal pressures. In my practice, I provide a safe and affirming environment where clients can explore their identities freely.
I also teach a social work diversity class as a Adjunct Professor at Weber State University that emphasizes discrimination and the importance of equitable care for all individuals. My aim is to raise awareness and equip future practitioners with the tools they need to serve diverse communities effectively.
My career began at Weber State University’s Women’s Center, followed by roles with Davis Behavioral Health and Family Counseling Services. I am committed to empowering all my clients, particularly those in the LGBTQ+ community, to find peace and develop effective strategies for achieving their goals and aspirations.
In addition to my clinical work, I specialize in supervising mental health therapists and coaching clinical social workers, ensuring high-quality care and support at Salais Counseling. I actively pursue ongoing education in LGBTQ+ affirmative practices, attending relevant trainings and workshops to enhance my ability to serve this community effectively.
