As 2024 draws to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on an incredible year of progress, resilience, and commitment to our mission of advancing health equity for LGBTQ+ communities. OutCare Health has achieved significant milestones, strengthened relationships, and expanded our impact across communities, providers, and the healthcare system as a whole. Here’s a look at the highlights of 2024.
Supporting Communities
This year, we made strides in connecting LGBTQ+ individuals with the affirming care and resources they need to thrive. We welcomed 1,200 new affirming providers to the OutList®, ensuring even more people can find compassionate, inclusive care. Our efforts supported over 230,000 community members, offering access to 400+ updated LGBTQ+ health resources, personalized care navigation, and peer support services.
Our community engagement went beyond resources. We hosted 10 OutTalk webinars, bringing together communities and health equity leaders to discuss critical topics like navigating youth health, building queer relationships, and fostering equitable care for underserved populations.
Empowering Providers
OutCare is dedicated to equipping healthcare professionals with the tools and knowledge to deliver affirming care. In 2024, we trained over 5,000 providers, who completed 12,000+ training hours, ensuring they are prepared to serve LGBTQ+ patients with respect and understanding. Our commitment to education extends to mentorship, with 30 new mentors joining our program to support the next generation of LGBTQ+ leaders in health and advocacy.
Advancing Research and Partnerships
This year, we published four research studies to deepen understanding of LGBTQ+ health disparities and inform better practices. Partnerships remained central to our mission, including a collaboration with the PAN Foundation to reduce financial barriers to care and a major grant with Pear Suite to train care navigators in LGBTQ+ health equity.
We also celebrated Pride in style, hosting events with partners like La Roche-Posay, FIGS, and Burst Oral Care. From New York to Hollywood, these moments amplified visibility for LGBTQ+ healthcare professionals and showcased the importance of equitable care.
Transforming Healthcare Systems
OutCare played a key role in supporting California health plans in meeting SB 923 compliance, helping train healthcare staff to provide affirming care for transgender, gender-diverse, and intersex (TGI) communities. Through these efforts, we ensured that care systems are equipped to meet the needs of marginalized groups and address longstanding disparities.
Our work was recognized with Gold Winner and Community Voice Awards at the 4th Annual Anthem Awards, celebrating our impact in advancing LGBTQ+ health equity nationwide.
Looking Ahead to 2025
While we’re proud of the progress made in 2024, our work is far from over. In the year ahead, we’re exploring innovative ways to close gaps in care, expand our training initiatives, and build new strategic partnerships to create a more equitable future. Stay tuned for an exciting announcement early in the year—we can’t wait to share what’s next.
To everyone who supported OutCare Health this year—whether as a partner, provider, or community member—thank you. Your dedication fuels our mission and makes all of this possible. Together, we’re transforming healthcare to ensure that every LGBTQ+ individual receives the affirming care they deserve.
Here’s to building an even brighter 2025!
