As we step into the new year with enthusiasm and determination, it’s the perfect time to look back on the incredible journey we’ve had at OutCare Health and share our aspirations for an even more impactful 2024. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has been part of our mission, supporting and championing LGBTQ+ health equity.
A Year of Achievements in 2023 🌈
Expanding OutReach Sessions:
One of our key accomplishments in 2023 was the launch of additional OutReach sessions, including FREE support groups tailored for gender-diverse, Latinx, and Black LGBTQ+ communities. This initiative aimed to foster a sense of belonging and support within marginalized LGBTQ+ communities. We also teamed up with Peers.net to offer confidential 1:1 peer-to-peer support sessions FOR FREE.
Educational OutTalk Webinars:
In collaboration with over 35 community and corporate partners, we produced 11 educational and collaborative OutTalk Series episodes. These sessions covered a diverse range of topics impacting LGBTQ+ communities, attracting over 1,000 participants and providing valuable insights.
Fundraising for Health Equity:
Thanks to the generosity of our partners, providers, and donors, OutCare Health raised over $285,000 in support of health equity initiatives. These funds contribute directly to our mission of providing trusted information and resources to LGBTQ+ communities.
Research Publications:
OutCare Health released 5 research publications aimed at understanding the intersections of gender identity, sexual orientation, and healthcare disparities. These publications contribute to the growing body of knowledge surrounding LGBTQ+ health.
Training and Network Expansion:
We trained thousands of providers, staff, and community members nationwide, welcoming over 1,100 new LGBTQ+ affirming providers on the OutList®. We teamed up with Med-IQ to provide much-needed CEU learning opportunities for LGBTQ+ health equity training. Our partnerships with Veda Data Solutions and Healthgrades helped build LGBTQ+ affirming provider networks and promoted trust within healthcare.
National LGBTQ+ Study and Affirming Care Designation:
We conducted a novel national LGBTQ+ study in collaboration with Healthgrades, shedding light on the lack of trust within healthcare among LGBTQ+ individuals. This study supported the launch of Healthgrades’ new LGBTQ+ Affirming Care Designation, facilitating more connections to care.
Innovative Care Navigation Platform:
In partnership with Pear Suite, we launched a care navigation platform connecting patients to life-saving LGBTQ+ resources, addressing critical gaps in access to affirming care.
Community Engagement and Visibility:
Our engagement extended to 8 Pride Festivals across 5 states, 10 conferences, and collaborations with 15 new organizations. OutCare Health was featured in over 40 local and national media outlets, including NBC News.
Impactful Hiring and Initiatives:
We welcomed 4 new staff members to the OutCare family, driving our mission forward. Thanks to the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation, we supported 3 fellows focused on public health throughout the summer to learn valuable skills in healthcare and nonprofit management. Additionally, the launch of prescription savings opportunities with ScriptSave WellRx and The National LGBTQ+ Curriculum, supported by the CVS Health Foundation, expanded our reach.
Commitment to Education and Mentorship:
In collaboration with local freelance writers, we published over 17 educational blog posts. The addition of 40 new mentors to our Mentorship Program further strengthened our commitment to education and mentorship.
Web Presence and User Support:
With over 1,000,000 website views, 550,000 affirming provider views, and support for nearly 200,000 users with LGBTQ+ health equity services, we’ve significantly impacted the health equity landscape. To better connect patients and providers, we launched a provider membership program to access exclusive member perks and partner discounts, training modules, and be featured in higher results on the #1 source of LGBTQ+ patient referrals.
Looking Ahead to 2024:
Despite our accomplishments, we recognize the ongoing need to improve LGBTQ+ health equity. In response, we have exciting plans for the coming year, including new strategic partnerships, expansion of existing programming, and new courses on gender-diverse, trauma-informed, and adolescent care with Continuing Education Units (CEUs) available.
A Call to Action and Gratitude:
We extend our deepest thanks to each supporter, provider, and partner who has made our journey possible. Your generosity and commitment make us hopeful about the positive impact we can collectively achieve in the year ahead. Stay tuned for updates on our progress and opportunities for action in the weeks and months to come.
Thank you for being an essential part of our OutCare Health Family!
