Finding the right therapist can feel like trying to find a needle in a haystack. There are a lot of options out in the world and a lot of choices to make. Particularly for those in the LGBTQ + community, it may feel overwhelming trying to find someone who will listen without judgement. I appreciate how important it is to feel safe in the therapy room and strive to ensure that everyone who comes into my office feels welcome. I offer free 30 minute consultations to help all potential clients feel comfortable and prepared to start therapy. A session with me involves a lot of humor, compassion, and honesty, and I believe all people, regardless of their background, deserve kindness and respect.

I believe strongly that creating a safe environment for individuals and couples to feel comfortable being vulnerable and facing themselves honestly is the key to successful change. We are all human and I strive to utilize the imperfections inherent in human nature to build relationships and model growth with my clients. There is great power in relationships and secure attachments, so I work hard to create a mutually secure and trusting bond with all my clients to support their growth.

My specialties include working with relational/marital concerns, PTSD/trauma, depression, anxiety, attachment issues, men’s issues, career and professional development, self-esteem, life transitions, and peer/school relationships. I work primarily with individuals over the age of 15 and couples, though I love working with family systems of all kinds.

I graduated with a Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from St. Cloud State University and I am a certified Prepare/Enrich premarital and marital counseling provider. I have experience working with couples, adolescents/teens, and adults in the LGBTQ+ community, including those in the polyamorous/non-monogamous, non-binary, intersex, and asexual communities.
