My practice is grounded in an intersectional approach, recognizing the unique challenges faced by marginalized communities. I specialize in gender-affirming therapy and have a deep understanding of the complexities surrounding identity, family dynamics, and societal pressures. I specialize in gender-affirming therapy for LGBTQ+ clients, particularly transgender and gender-expansive youth and young adults. My approach emphasizes cultural competence and intersectionality. I offer therapy that supports identity exploration, resilience building, and healthy coping mechanisms, tailored to each client’s unique experiences and needs. I am passionate about helping clients navigate their journeys with authenticity and empowerment. Whether you’re seeking to understand yourself better, improve your relationships, or find a supportive listener, I am here to walk alongside you. Let’s work together to create a more fulfilling and authentic life.
I began my academic journey at DeAnza Community College, where I earned an Associate of Arts in Sociology. From there, I transferred to San José State University and completed my Bachelor of Arts in Sociology with a focus on Women and Gender Studies. My passion for social work then led me to the University of Southern California, where I obtained my Master of Social Work degree, specializing in working with Children, Youth, and Families. In addition to my studies, I’ve had the opportunity to engage in meaningful research projects, concentrating on the resilience of transgender youth of color and the experiences of nonbinary college students. I’m proud to say that some of my work has been published in respected journals:
Latinx and Asian American Transgender and Gender-Expansive Youth’s Experiences with Parental Ambivalent Support and Coping Processes
“They won’t push me away”: Transgender and gender-expansive youth of color’s perceptions of parental gender-identity-specific support
Understanding nonbinary college students’ experiences on college campuses: An exploratory study of mental health, campus involvement, victimization, and safety.
Prior to my clinical work, I have a decade of experience working with LGBTQ+ youth and young adults, and their families.
