I work with LGBTQ+ and neurodivergent clients who are processing and healing from trauma, including religious trauma and spiritual abuse. I also work with people who have been late diagnosed with autism or ADHD as well as those who have self-diagnosed. If you are experiencing anxiety due to past experiences, even those you would not define as “trauma” I can help.
Most of my clients are LGBTQ+ and I began specializing in religious trauma after working with them to process religious upbringings. Whether you are in church and want to continue practicing your religion; are questioning and deconstructing Christianity; or if you have family who will not accept you due to your sexual orientation or gender identity, it is helpful to work with a therapist. I am queer myself and have taken numerous LGBTQ+ affirming trainings, including two different trainings in writing gender affirming care letters for surgery. I believe that a client’s sexuality or gender identity should not effect their mental health treatment, unless that is part of why they are seeking counseling. I am polyamory and ethical non-monogamy affirming, as well as kink affirming. I have taken CEUs through The Affirmative Couch on working with polyamorous ENM clients.
I am trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed EMDR. I provide telehealth throughout the state of Mississippi so that it is possible for LGBTQ+ clients to access an affirming therapist no matter where they are located. I also see clients in my office in Ridgeland, MS. I am in network with all Blue Cross Blue Shield plans and offer discounted rates to those that are uninsured.
